new arrivals

The wait is finally over! We are super excited to share that our little guys made it here on Thursday May 28th at 5:05 and 5:06 pm. First came Crew Clarke Ashton, and second was Kade Michael Ashton! We are so excited to finally have these little guys here and to get learn all about them! So, without further ado, here's the pics!

Close up of Crew. Our boys look a lot a like and sometimes it can be a little tricky to tell them apart from one another!

Kade was 5 lbs. 10 oz. and was 18.5 inches long. He's already quite the eater! It's nice to finally have a kid that eats what we serve up!

Crew was 5 lbs. 12 oz. and was 19 inches long. He's our sleeper, and loves to be snuggled and held. I'm so excited to have a kid that wants to cuddle, hopefully this holds up!

Our new family photo, it was a little chaotic, and it's hard to see everyone, but this pic really makes us proud! Brody does a little better with the "brothers" concept everyday, I can't believe how HUGE he is compared to the twins!

Leaving the hospital with the twins. The first couple of days the boys (especially Crew) had a really hard time keeping food down. Now they're doing much better, and only spit up from time to time. Thankfully we were all able to leave the hospital together on time. We love our new little guys!!

More pics in the days to come!

buddies

Justin and Brody have been the cutest buddies lately, it seems like they're always off on some adventure together, which allows me plenty of time to rest. Here's some pics from their latest adventures together:

Our fire station had a open house so of course these two were there! They got to explore the fire house, trucks and ambulances.

During Justin's spring break these two buddies enjoyed a day at the LA zoo. Brody's been very into animal sounds lately so he finally could put the sound to the real life animal! They're just enjoying the petting zoo and a soft sheep.

Checking out a goat who seems WAY bigger than Brody is!

mom's day

Last year I made a framed scrap page for my dad, and I've been planning on doing one for my mom, and finally the plan came to me! Now I'm definitely no scrap wizard, actually this is the first thing I've done in months, but it's always so fun to put a page together for someone else and to include lots of old photos. The page has a little progression of my mom's life: from single girl, to wedding day, to newlywed before kids, to all five girls, and ends with all the grand kids (to date). My dad helped me find all the pics, and my sister's and I all included reasons we love our mom. I'm so thankful for my mom and was so lucky to spend mother's day together. As for mother's day in my home, Justin really gave me a super mother's day and it really made me think how lucky I am to be married to my sweetheart, with one super cute little boy, and two little guys just weeks away from us. Happy mother's day to all the mom's out there!

down for the count

Well things here have been a little chaotic. After a couple days of contractions, and hours of baby monitoring, the doctors have me on bed rest until our little guys arrive. Right now I'm 33 weeks, but they definitely want the babies to stay in until 34 weeks (and once you reach that, they want them in until 36 weeks). So for now I'm on some meds to ensure I don't go into preterm labor, which is common among twin carriers, and we're just holding on and anxiously waiting for the next few weeks to pass. So far I've learned that bed rest is very over rated, and seems impossible when you've got a busy one running around, but luckily we have lots of help! Since the contractions started we've decided to step up our baby prep, so the clothes (which are so tiny!) are washed and put away, the bassinets are up, the car seats are in, and the baby toys are back out again. Brody's been a super great helper with all this, and loves to test out all the stuff for "brothers". The other day he said he wanted 2 brothers, we of course said yes, a breathed a sigh of relief. Luckily he really like things in 2's. So that's how were doing, just sitting, or laying, and waiting. Hopefully we can meet these guys soon!
